Item left behind in an Airbnb near Disneyland Paris

No reception, no luggage room, no lost property desk: in a holiday rental, a forgotten item is settled with the owner alone — and the clock is short.

Why it is harder than a hotel

A short-term rental has no reception open around the clock, no lost property service, and nobody on site once you leave. Disneyland Paris's official service does not apply: your accommodation is outside its scope.

There is also a time constraint many people discover too late: cleaning often happens within hours of check-out, and a new guest sometimes arrives the same day. A forgotten item can leave the property within hours.

The area holds thousands of rentals in Serris, Chessy, Montévrain, Bailly-Romainvilliers and Magny-le-Hongre, run by private owners or by management companies. Each has its own way of doing things.

What to do, in this order

Write to the owner immediately, through the booking platform's messaging. That leaves a written trace, which matters if there is a dispute. Give the room, the exact spot and a description of the item.

Ask two precise things: that the item be set aside, and whether they agree to hand it to someone you authorise. Without that agreement, nobody can collect it on your behalf.

Agree a realistic time slot. An owner who lives far from the property, or a company managing several units, is not available at any moment. That, more than goodwill, is usually what holds things up.

How we step in

Once the owner has agreed, we handle the rest: we go to the property at the agreed time, collect the item and hand it to you at your hotel, the station, the airport, or an address in the Paris region.

We can also act as the meeting point when the owner is only free at a time when you have already left: that is exactly the role a hotel reception plays, and the one missing here.

We cannot enter a property, nor collect anything without the explicit agreement of the owner or their manager. We check this before travelling.

FAQ — item left in a holiday rental

Follow up through the platform's messaging, which keeps the history, then go through the platform's customer service if the silence continues. Without the owner's agreement we cannot act: we have no right of access to the property.

Far less than at a hotel. Cleaning usually follows check-out closely, and a new guest may arrive the same day. Write to the owner within hours, not the next day.

Yes, as long as they can let us in or leave the item at an agreed place. We work around their availability, including when you have already gone home.

Something left in your rental?

Get the owner's agreement, then tell us where and when. We check feasibility and confirm the price before acting.
